2019 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Black Ceramic Watch


As a follow up to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars Black Ceramic that was introduced by Audemars Piguet in 2017, the Le Brassus manufacture this week debuted a new open-worked version, which is otherwise the same as its predecessor.


The case


The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Black Ceramic replica watch is presented in a sleek 41 mm x 9.9 mm black ceramic case which features intricate satin-brushing on the entire case and bracelet, with the exception of the beveled edges of the case, bezel, caseback (black titanium), and bracelet, which have been polished.


The movement


Underneath a sapphire crystal dial is in-house movement caliber 5135, which is a skeletonized version of caliber 5134, that powers the aforementioned Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Black Ceramic from 2017. The movement is wound by a skeletonized rose gold oscillating weight, beats at a frequency of 2.75Hz, has 374 components, 38 jewels, and a 40-hour power reserve.

The watch functions include hours, minutes, seconds, and a perpetual calendar (date, day, week, month, leap year, and moon phase indicators). Baton-shaped hands indicate hours, minutes, and seconds like the previous model but this time they’re in rose gold, as are the applied indices, and subdial surrounds.
