The house of Hubolt has partnered with their long-time friend Laurent Picciotto for a limited edition  Classic Fusion Wild Customs timepiece. Picciotto, the founder of Chronopassion, a gallerist, and an avid watch collector, is also the owner of the Wild Customs electric guitar company, or  better an artisan workshop where some of the most beautiful custom guitars are being made.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Wild Customs replica watch is imbued with a wild rock'n'roll spirit. Hublot has obtained patented several of its innovations, including: scratch-resistant Magic Gold, colored ceramics and sapphire crystals, and its unique, Meca-10 and Tourbillon manufacture movements. With the Wild Customs watch, the Swiss brand will unveil the Gyrock, its patented mechanism designed to revolutionize the use of pickups on an electric guitar. The presentation will be held in Nashville this July.

The case


The Hublot Classic Fusion Wild Customs watch is a large, masculine timepiece that measures 45mm in diameter. The watch is available in a choice of blackened bronze or aged titanium, in tribute to the “relic” technique used by luthiers (makers of stringed instruments). An elaborate Art-Deco pattern adorns the case and the dial, while the bezel features a classic symbol of rock’n’roll music – engraved, stylized skulls. The lighting seconds hand, shaped like a bolt, is painted in surf green color to celebrate the pioneering spirit of the 1950s and 1960s – the golden age of the electric guitar.

The movement


The watch is driven by a self-winding mechanical movement, Hublot HUB1100, and mounted on a strap in brown vintage leather or black leather stitched onto rubber. The movement operates at 28'800 oscillations per hour, ensuring around 42 hours of power resistance. The case protects it from the ingres of water to 50 meters.

Hublot Classic Fusion Wild Customs is available in just two limited editions of 100 each. The watches are presented in a special box, and a plectrum in blackened bronze and aged titanium accompanies each. The Hublot Classic Fusion Wild Customs is exclusively available from the Hublot Boutique at 271 Rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris until the end of July, and from other partner boutiques from August.
